Pulsed Plasma Thrusters
Pulsed Plasma Thrusters (PPTs) are a type of space propulsion system that generates thrust by using short, powerful bursts of plasma. Plasma is an ionized gas where some electrons are stripped from atoms, creating charged particles. In a PPT, electricity is used to create pulses of plasma, which are then expelled at high speed. This produces thrust, allowing spacecraft to maneuver in space. PPTs are efficient and are often used for precise movement in satellites and space missions, taking advantage of their ability to provide controlled, lightweight propulsion without needing large amounts of fuel.
