Positioning Systems
Positioning systems are technologies that determine the location of an object or person. The most common example is GPS (Global Positioning System), which uses a network of satellites to provide accurate positioning information anywhere on Earth. These systems work by receiving signals from multiple satellites and calculating the precise location based on the time it takes for those signals to travel. Besides GPS, other methods include local systems like Wi-Fi positioning and cellular triangulation. Positioning systems are widely used in navigation, mapping, transportation, and even in applications like tracking fitness activities and managing logistics.
