Differential GNSS (DGNSS)

Differential GNSS (DGNSS) is an enhancement to standard GPS that improves location accuracy. While regular GPS uses signals from satellites to determine a position, DGNSS employs ground-based reference stations that receive the same satellite signals. These stations calculate the differences between their known positions and the GPS data, then broadcast corrections. This significantly reduces errors caused by atmospheric conditions, satellite clock issues, or signal obstructions. As a result, DGNSS can provide positional accuracy within a meter or less, making it useful for applications like surveying, agriculture, and navigation in challenging environments.
