Polish parliament (Sejm)
The Polish Parliament, known as the Sejm, is the lower house of Poland's bicameral legislature. It consists of 460 elected representatives who create and pass laws, oversee the government, and represent the public. Members of the Sejm are elected through a proportional representation system, which means political parties gain seats based on the percentage of votes they receive. The Sejm plays a crucial role in shaping national policy, approving the budget, and holding the government accountable. Together with the Senate, the upper house, the Sejm influences the legislative process in Poland.
