Senate of Poland
The Senate of Poland is the upper chamber of the country’s parliament, known as the National Assembly. It consists of 100 senators who review, amend, and approve legislation passed by the lower house, the Sejm. The Senate also has roles in representing regional interests, conducting investigations, and providing oversight. Senators are elected through a proportional representation system for a four-year term. While their powers are limited compared to the Sejm, the Senate plays an important role in shaping laws and ensuring thorough review of proposed legislation, contributing to the legislative process and balancing executive influence.
