Pleistocene Glaciation

Pleistocene Glaciation was a major period in Earth’s history, lasting from about 2.6 million to 11,700 years ago, marked by repeated cycles of glacial advance and retreat. Big ice sheets covered large parts of North America, Europe, and Asia during this time. The climate was much colder than today, and these massive glaciers shaped the landscape, creating valleys and lakes. As temperatures rose, the glaciers melted, leading to significant changes in ecosystems and the environment, which eventually set the stage for the modern climate and landscapes we see today.
