Planning Commission (Now NITI Aayog)

The Planning Commission of India was established in 1950 to create and manage the country's development plans and economic policies. In 2015, it was replaced by NITI Aayog, which stands for the National Institution for Transforming India. NITI Aayog focuses on cooperative federalism, promoting economic growth, sustainable development, and improving governance through policy research and recommendations. Unlike the Planning Commission, it works collaboratively with states and involves stakeholders in decision-making, aiming to foster a more holistic approach to India’s economic and social progress.
