Philippine Constabulary

The Philippine Constabulary was a national police force established in 1901 during American colonial rule in the Philippines. It aimed to maintain peace and order, enforce laws, and combat crime. Initially a military organization, it transitioned to a civilian police force over the years. The Constabulary played a crucial role in Philippine history, including during World War II and the martial law era in the 1970s. In 1991, it was officially dissolved and its functions absorbed by the Philippine National Police (PNP), which continues to serve as the country's primary law enforcement agency today.
