Pamidronate therapy

Pamidronate therapy involves the use of pamidronate, a medication belonging to a class called bisphosphonates. It is primarily used to treat conditions related to bone health, such as osteoporosis, Paget's disease, and high levels of calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia) often seen in cancers. Pamidronate works by inhibiting the activity of cells that break down bone, helping to strengthen bones and reduce pain. The treatment is usually administered intravenously and may require several sessions depending on the patient's condition. Side effects can include flu-like symptoms, digestive issues, and, in rare cases, jaw problems.
