P5
The P5+1 refers to a group of six countries engaged in negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program. The "P5" consists of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council: the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia, and China. The "+1" represents Germany. This group aimed to reach an agreement that would ensure Iran's nuclear activities remain peaceful and prevent the development of nuclear weapons. The most notable result of these negotiations was the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached in 2015, which imposed restrictions on Iran's nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of economic sanctions.
