Optical Properties

Optical properties refer to how materials interact with light. This includes how they absorb, reflect, refract (bend), or transmit (allow through) light. For example, a mirror reflects light, making it shiny, while a glass window transmits light, allowing us to see through it. The color we perceive is determined by which wavelengths of light a material absorbs and reflects. Understanding these properties is essential in fields like photography, optics, and even in designing eyeglasses and lenses, as they influence how we experience the world visually.
