Operation Neptune Spear

Operation Neptune Spear was a covert mission carried out by the U.S. Navy SEALs on May 2, 2011, to capture or kill Osama bin Laden, the leader of al-Qaeda and mastermind behind the September 11 attacks. The operation took place in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where bin Laden was residing. After years of intelligence gathering, a team of SEALs infiltrated his compound, engaged in a firefight, and ultimately killed him.
