Nottingham Histological Grade
The Nottingham Histological Grade is a system used to evaluate breast cancer based on how abnormal the cancer cells look under a microscope. Doctors examine the tissue from a biopsy and assign a grade from 1 to 3. Grade 1 indicates that the cells appear similar to normal cells and tend to grow slowly, while Grade 3 shows very abnormal cells that grow more aggressively. This grading helps doctors determine the cancer's behavior, potential treatment options, and prognosis, allowing for more personalized patient care.
