North American Aerospace Defense Command
The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is a joint military organization between the United States and Canada, established to monitor and defend North American airspace. It was created during the Cold War to detect and respond to potential aerial threats, such as enemy aircraft or missiles. NORAD operates advanced radar and satellite systems to track air traffic and ensure the safety of the continent. In addition to military defense, it also plays a role in coordinating responses to natural disasters and providing support during events such as major sporting competitions.
