Non-Nuclear Weapons States

Non-Nuclear Weapons States (NNWS) are countries that do not possess nuclear weapons. They are often signatories to international treaties, like the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), which aims to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and promote peaceful uses of nuclear energy. NNWS agree not to develop or acquire nuclear arms, while nuclear-armed nations commit to pursuing disarmament. This framework seeks to enhance global security by reducing the risk of nuclear conflict and encouraging cooperation in nuclear safety and technology for peaceful purposes.
