Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty
The Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) is an international agreement that aims to ban all nuclear explosions, whether for military or peaceful purposes. Established in 1996, it seeks to prevent the development and proliferation of nuclear weapons by prohibiting tests. While it has been signed by many countries, it has not yet entered into force because some key nations have not ratified it. The treaty includes a global monitoring system to detect nuclear tests, promoting international peace and security by reducing the risk of nuclear conflict and supporting nuclear disarmament efforts.
