non-naturalism

Non-naturalism is a philosophical viewpoint suggesting that certain truths, especially moral or ethical truths, exist independently of the natural world and scientific explanations. Unlike naturalism, which relies on observable and empirical evidence, non-naturalism posits that some aspects of reality, such as values or meanings, transcend physical understanding. This perspective holds that moral principles, for example, cannot be fully explained by biology or science alone, implying that there are dimensions of human experience that require different frameworks for understanding, often drawing on intuition, reason, or non-empirical insights.
