Nizam Shahi

The Nizam Shahi was a dynasty that ruled the Deccan region of India from the late 15th to the mid-17th century. Founded by Malik Ahmad Nizam Shah in 1490, the dynasty was centered in Ahmednagar and was one of the five major Deccan Sultanates. The Nizam Shahis were known for their patronage of art, culture, and architecture, as well as their resistance against Mughal expansion. Their reign ended in 1636 when the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan incorporated their territory into his empire, marking a significant shift in the region's political landscape.
