New France
New France was a French colony in North America from the early 16th century until the mid-18th century. It included regions that are now parts of Canada and the United States, particularly around the St. Lawrence River, the Great Lakes, and the Mississippi River. New France was founded for economic reasons, primarily fur trading, and featured a mix of indigenous and European cultures. It flourished until the mid-1700s when it fell to British control during the Seven Years' War, leading to significant changes in North America's colonial landscape.
