Natural Boundaries
Natural boundaries refer to physical features in the environment, such as rivers, mountains, or trees, that define the limits of property ownership. In the context of easement and boundary law, these features can help determine where one property ends and another begins, guiding rights of passage or usage of land. For instance, if a river acts as a boundary between two properties, the landowner may have rights regarding the river, while respecting the boundaries it creates. Natural boundaries are often easier to recognize and understand compared to artificial or man-made boundaries, like fences or walls.
