National Medical Commission

The National Medical Commission (NMC) is an Indian regulatory body established in 2019 to oversee medical education and practice in the country. Its main goals are to ensure high standards in medical education, enhance the availability of healthcare professionals, and improve healthcare services across India. The NMC replaces the Medical Council of India (MCI) and is responsible for setting guidelines for medical schools, granting licenses to practice, and assessing the quality of medical education. By doing so, it aims to safeguard public health and ensure that medical practitioners are well-trained and competent.
