Nalanda Mahavihara

Nalanda Mahavihara was an ancient Buddhist university in India, established in the 5th century CE. It became a prominent center for learning, attracting students and scholars from across Asia for more than 800 years. The university specialized in subjects like philosophy, mathematics, astronomy, and medicine, fostering a rich intellectual environment. Renowned figures like Xuanzang and Nagarjuna studied and taught there. Nalanda's impressive architecture included numerous monasteries, temples, and lecture halls. Today, it is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, symbolizing the historical significance of education and multiculturalism in the Indian subcontinent.
