Myocardial Stunning

Myocardial stunning is a temporary condition where the heart muscle (myocardium) loses its ability to pump effectively after a period of reduced blood flow, such as during a heart attack. Although the blood supply is restored, the heart remains weakened for hours or days. This happens because the heart cells are stressed and need time to recover. It can lead to symptoms like chest pain or fatigue and may impact heart function short-term, but typically, with appropriate care, the heart can recover its normal function.
