Multifocal IOL
A multifocal intraocular lens (IOL) is a type of artificial lens used in cataract surgery to replace the clouded natural lens of the eye. Unlike traditional lenses that focus at only one distance, multifocal IOLs are designed with multiple zones, allowing better vision at various distances—near, intermediate, and far. This can reduce the need for glasses or contact lenses after surgery. Multifocal IOLs improve the quality of life for many patients by enhancing their ability to see clearly for everyday tasks without relying heavily on corrective eyewear.
