Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi
Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi was a 9th-century Persian scholar known as the "father of algebra." His work introduced systematic solutions to linear and quadratic equations, laying the groundwork for modern mathematics. Al-Khwarizmi's most notable book, "Al-Kitab al-Mukhtasar fi Hisab al-Jabr wal-Muqabala," established algebra as a distinct mathematical discipline, from which the term "algebra" is derived. He also contributed to astronomy and geography, helping improve the understanding of these fields in his time. His influence extended well beyond the Islamic Golden Age, shaping mathematical education in Europe for centuries to come.
