Khwarezm, historically known as Khorezm, is a region located in Central Asia, primarily encompassing parts of modern-day Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan. It was a significant cultural and political center during the medieval period, especially under the Khwarezmian Empire in the 11th and 12th centuries. The region was known for its advancements in science, mathematics, and architecture, contributing to the Silk Road's trade network. Khwarezm is also notable for its role in the history of Genghis Khan, as it was invaded by him, leading to significant historical upheaval.
