Mexican War of Independence
The Mexican War of Independence was a conflict lasting from 1810 to 1821, in which Mexico sought to free itself from Spanish colonial rule. It began with Miguel Hidalgo's “Grito de Dolores,” calling for rebellion against Spanish control. Over the years, various leaders emerged, and the struggle involved battles and shifting alliances. Social inequality, economic hardships, and a desire for self-governance fueled the movement. By 1821, Mexico successfully achieved independence, leading to the establishment of a sovereign nation, though the aftermath brought challenges in governance and territorial disputes.
