Menachem Begin
Menachem Begin was an Israeli political leader and the sixth Prime Minister of Israel, serving from 1977 to 1983. He co-founded the Likud party and was a key figure in Israel's struggles for independence. Before Israel's founding, he led the Jewish underground movement, Irgun, which carried out militant actions against British authorities. Begin was known for his strong nationalist views, commitment to Jewish self-determination, and efforts toward peace, including signing the historic Camp David Accords with Egypt in 1978, which led to peace between the two countries. His leadership significantly shaped modern Israel's political landscape.
