Medicare Part A

Medicare Part A is a section of the U.S. government's health insurance program primarily for individuals aged 65 and older, and for some younger people with disabilities. It mostly covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice, and some home health services. Part A is generally funded through payroll taxes during a person's working years, which means most beneficiaries do not pay a premium when they enroll. However, there may be costs involved, such as deductibles and copayments, depending on the type of care received and the length of the hospital stay.
