Mark Antony
Mark Antony was a Roman politician and general during the late Roman Republic. He was a close ally of Julius Caesar, serving as a trusted supporter and military leader. After Caesar’s assassination in 44 BCE, Antony became a key player in Roman politics, forming the Second Triumvirate to consolidate power. His leadership was marked by military successes and political alliances, but also rivalry, especially with Octavian (later Augustus). Antony is famously remembered for his romantic and political partnership with Cleopatra VII of Egypt, which ultimately contributed to his downfall and the end of the Roman Republic.
