Lung Injury

Lung injury refers to damage to lung tissue, which can impair breathing and overall lung function. This can happen due to various reasons, such as infections (like pneumonia), exposure to harmful substances (like smoke or chemicals), or conditions like Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Symptoms often include difficulty breathing, coughing, and chest pain. Lung injury can lead to inflammation and fluid buildup in the lungs, making it challenging for oxygen to enter the bloodstream. Treatment often involves addressing the underlying cause and may require medications, oxygen therapy, or mechanical ventilation in severe cases.
