Louis XV of France

Louis XV was the King of France from 1715 to 1774, following Louis XIV. Known as "Louis the Beloved," he ascended to the throne at a young age after the death of his great-grandfather. His reign saw France's involvement in several wars, including the Seven Years' War, which led to significant territorial losses. Despite initial popularity, Louis XV faced criticism for corruption and lavish spending, contributing to public unrest that foreshadowed the French Revolution. He was eventually succeeded by his grandson, Louis XVI, as France’s political and economic troubles deepened during his later years.
