Leon Czolgosz

Leon Czolgosz was an American anarchist who assassinated President William McKinley in 1901. Disillusioned with government and motivated by his belief in anarchism, Czolgosz shot McKinley during a public event. The president died from his wounds eight days later, leading to Czolgosz’s arrest and trial. He was convicted of murder and executed in the electric chair in 1902. His actions raised questions about political violence and the safety of high-profile leaders, marking a significant moment in U.S. history and the discourse surrounding anarchism and individual protest against authority.
