Late Jurassic
The Late Jurassic period occurred approximately 163 to 145 million years ago, during a time when dinosaurs were the dominant land animals. This period is part of the Mesozoic Era and is known for rich biodiversity, including the rise of famous dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus rex and Brachiosaurus. Gigantic marine reptiles and flying pterosaurs also thrived. The climate was generally warm, with vast tropical seas covering much of the Earth. The Late Jurassic saw significant geological changes, including the breakup of the supercontinent Pangaea, which influenced the distribution of species and ecosystems we see in fossil records today.
