Kristallnacht

Kristallnacht, also known as the Night of Broken Glass, was a coordinated attack against Jewish communities in Nazi Germany on November 9-10, 1938. Nazi mobs vandalized synagogues, homes, and Jewish-owned businesses, smashing windows and destroying property. This event marked a significant escalation in anti-Semitic persecution, transitioning from discriminatory policies to violent, large-scale violence. It was officially ordered by the Nazi leadership and resulted in the arrest of thousands of Jews. Kristallnacht signaled a shift toward increasingly brutal measures aimed at marginalizing and persecuting Jewish populations across Nazi-controlled territories.
