Kidney Exchange Programs
Kidney exchange programs help people needing a kidney transplant find compatible donors who may not be able to donate directly due to blood type or other medical factors. In these programs, pairs of patients and their willing donors who can't match swap donors with other pairs. For example, if person A needs a kidney and has a donor who can't give them a kidney, they can exchange with person B, who has a compatible donor for them. This creates a network where multiple exchanges can occur, increasing the chances of successful transplants for everyone involved.
