Karl Liebknecht
Karl Liebknecht was a German socialist politician and a key figure in the early 20th-century socialist movement. Born in 1871, he opposed Germany's involvement in World War I, arguing that the war served the interests of capitalism, not the working class. He co-founded the Spartacus League, which advocated for revolutionary socialism and later became part of the Communist Party of Germany. Liebknecht was a vocal critic of the establishment and fought for workers' rights and social justice. He was arrested several times for his activism and was ultimately executed in 1919 after the German Revolution, becoming a martyr for socialist movements.
