Karen languages
Karen languages are a group of related languages spoken by the Karen people, primarily in Myanmar (Burma) and Thailand. They belong to the Sino-Tibetan language family and include several distinct languages, such as S’gaw Karen and Pwo Karen. The languages have their own scripts and are often influenced by local languages. Karen communities have a rich cultural heritage, and these languages play a key role in their identity. Despite facing challenges, including displacement and political turmoil, efforts are underway to preserve and promote Karen languages for future generations.
