July 26th Movement

The July 26th Movement was a pivotal Cuban revolutionary campaign led by Fidel Castro in the 1950s against the authoritarian regime of Fulgencio Batista. It began on July 26, 1953, when Castro and his followers attacked the Moncada Barracks in Santiago de Cuba to ignite resistance. Although the attack failed, it galvanized public support and inspired further actions against Batista's government. The movement eventually succeeded in overthrowing Batista in 1959, leading to the establishment of a communist regime in Cuba, significantly impacting global politics during the Cold War.
