
Jayaprakash Narayan
Jayaprakash Narayan was an Indian independence activist and political leader, renowned for leading the Bihar Movement in the 1970s. He championed democracy, social justice, and fought against corruption and authoritarianism. His efforts inspired mass civil disobedience against the government of then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, playing a key role in the buildup to the emergency period (1975-1977). Recognized as "Lok Nayak" (People's Hero), Narayan emphasized grassroots activism and ethical governance. His leadership helped mobilize youth and common citizens to advocate for democratic rights and social change in India.
