Jat rulers

The Jat rulers were a group of warrior-peasants in northern India, primarily found in the regions of Punjab and Rajasthan. Emerging in the 17th century, they established significant kingdoms, notably the Jat state of Bharatpur and the successful rule of Maharaja Suraj Mal. Their governance was marked by a blend of agrarian economy and military strength, which allowed them to resist Mughal authority and later British colonial rule. Today, the Jat community remains influential in Indian society, known for their contributions to agriculture and politics, and they are recognized for their rich cultural heritage.
