Intersex Society of North America

The Intersex Society of North America (ISNA) was an organization dedicated to raising awareness and advocating for the rights of intersex individuals—those born with physical sex characteristics that don't fit typical definitions of male or female. Established in the late 1990s, ISNA aimed to educate the public, support intersex people, and promote respect for their bodies and identities. The organization also criticized harmful medical practices often imposed on intersex infants and children. Although ISNA is no longer active, its legacy continues to influence discussions on intersex rights and medical ethics.
