International Potato Center (CIP)

The International Potato Center (CIP) is a research organization based in Peru that focuses on improving potato and sweet potato crops. Established in 1971, its mission is to enhance food security, alleviate poverty, and promote sustainable agriculture through research and innovation. CIP works with partners worldwide to develop new varieties of potatoes that are more nutritious, resilient to climate change, and resistant to pests and diseases. By supporting smallholder farmers and communities, CIP aims to improve livelihoods and ensure better nutrition for populations reliant on these important staple crops.
