Inter-American Commission on Human Rights
The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) is an autonomous body of the Organization of American States (OAS) that promotes and protects human rights in the Americas. It receives and investigates reports of human rights violations, provides recommendations to governments, and offers a platform for victims to voice concerns. The IACHR also conducts country visits and issues reports to raise awareness and support accountability. Its goal is to defend fundamental rights, promote justice, and ensure governments uphold their commitments under regional and international human rights standards.
