Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is a U.S. federal agency under the Department of Homeland Security. Its primary responsibilities include enforcing immigration laws, investigating customs violations, and combating illegal immigration. ICE is divided into two main operations: Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), which handles the detention and deportation of individuals without legal status, and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), which addresses transnational crime, such as human trafficking and drug smuggling. Through these activities, ICE aims to protect national security and uphold the rule of law regarding immigration and customs.
