
House of the Vettii
The House of the Vettii is an ancient Roman villa located in Pompeii, famous for its well-preserved frescoes and elaborate architecture. Built around the 1st century AD, it belonged to two wealthy freedmen, Aulus Vettius Conviva and Aulus Vettius Restitutus. The house showcases typical Roman domestic life, with intricate art depicting both mythological and everyday scenes. Its design features an atrium and elaborate gardens, reflecting the owners' wealth and status. The house was buried under volcanic ash during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, preserving its structure and artworks for centuries.
