Hetepheres I
Hetepheres I was an Egyptian queen during the Fourth Dynasty, around 2600 BC, and the wife of Pharaoh Sneferu. She is notable for her association with the early pyramid construction era. Hetepheres played a significant role in royal lineage and was the mother of Pharaoh Khufu, who commissioned the Great Pyramid of Giza. Archaeologists discovered her intact burial chamber in 1925, revealing exquisite grave goods that reflected her high status. This find provided valuable insights into ancient Egyptian burial practices and the lives of royal women in a historically male-dominated society. Her legacy continues to influence our understanding of ancient Egypt.
