Heat Acclimatization
Heat acclimatization is the process by which the body gradually adapts to high temperatures. This adjustment enhances the body’s ability to regulate its temperature, improves sweat production, and reduces the risk of heat-related illnesses. During acclimatization, people may experience increased blood flow to the skin, more efficient sweating, and lower heart rates during physical activities in the heat. Typically, this process takes about 1 to 2 weeks of regular exposure to hot conditions, allowing individuals to perform better and feel more comfortable in warmer environments.
