Hard Disk Drive

A hard disk drive (HDD) is a storage device used in computers to save and retrieve digital data. It consists of spinning metal disks coated with magnetic material, where data is recorded in patterns. An arm with a read/write head moves above the disks to read or write information. HDDs are commonly used because they can store large amounts of data at a relatively low cost. However, they are slower than newer technologies like solid-state drives (SSDs), which use flash memory and have no moving parts, making them faster and more durable.
