H1N1
H1N1, commonly known as swine flu, is a strain of influenza virus that first emerged in humans in 2009. It combines genes from human, pig, and bird flu viruses, making it easily transmissible among people. Symptoms are similar to seasonal flu, including fever, cough, and body aches, and it can lead to serious complications, especially in vulnerable groups. H1N1 caused a global pandemic when it spread rapidly, but vaccines developed in response have greatly reduced its impact. It remains a part of the seasonal flu virus spectrum, with yearly vaccinations recommended for protection.
